Our Trout Caviar has a bright colour, unique flavour, and delicate texture. This roe is small, ranging in colour from deep orange to light pink. The taste of trout roe is briny and slightly nutty, with a subtle sweetness and a creamy finish. It is less intense than some other types of roe, but offers a satisfying burst of flavor when the eggs are popped in the mouth. Trout Roe has a smaller and more delicate shell than Salmon roe, and a milder, less salty flavor with a buttery finish. It is also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Trout roe is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of ways. It is commonly used as a garnish for sushi rolls, sashimi, and other seafood dishes. Additionally, it can be used to add flavor and texture to dips, spreads, and sauces. We love it on Blinis, with a little fresh Creme Fraiche. Milder than salmon roe, trout roe goes perfectly with a scallop carpaccio, fresh salmon, scrambled or soft-boiled eggs, and potatoes.
